Company History - Cali Fame of Los Angeles began as Chicago Hat Company in 1925 manufacturing dress, sport, military and athletic wear. The name was changed to Cali Fame of Los Angeles in 1946 when the company moved from Chicago, Illinois to Los Angeles, California. Soon after relocating to Southern California, Cali Fame added fashion golf headwear to it's product mix. In 1962 the company was sold to an athletic apparel manufacturer and in 1977 the present family ownership took over.

Cali Fame of Los Angeles was one of the first manufacturing companies to provide fashion headwear to private and public golf courses around the United States. It was in 1947 that Thunderbird Country Club in Palm Desert, California purchased the very first decorated golf caps for their membership. Since then, Cali Fame has been producing timeless fashion pieces in the U.S. that has help to shape the golf headwear industry into what it is today. Many of the cap styles worn by the young stars of golf today are wearing cap styles that Cali Fame made popular in the 1960’s and 1970’s. This year we are introducing a line of Retro style caps that captures the vintage fashion styles of the past, blended with new design techniques and fabric enhancements of today.
